With a flurry of information about Coronavirus (COVID-19) going around the community, it’s important for City government to connect residents to accurate information. On March 19, the City of Jackson launched a special Coronavirus section of cityofjackson.org to provide official information about the City’s response and community resources.
A plug-in to this Coronavirus section can be found on the homepage of the website. It can also be reached quickly by searching www.cityofjackson.org/coronavirus. The new web page will include information about:
- The City’s response to Coronavirus
- Important health information
- Community resources
- Closures and cancellations
- Latest news on the crisis in Jackson County
- Connections to information sources
- Videos from the City of Jackson and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Over the past week, the City of Jackson has been taking multiple steps to combat the spread of this illness, including declaring a Local State of Emergency. City of Jackson Public Information Officer Aaron Dimick, who launched this special website section, says this is part of the City’s ongoing response. “The City is working with other community organizations to help those who are impacted by this crisis. This new web page will act as a way for residents to connect to community resources, and get clear updates about what they should know about the City’s response,” Dimick said.
Regular updates will be added to this page when they’re available.
